Sudersand Resort is open all year round in the cottage village and at Strandskogen Camping, while the beach campsite is open from 1 May to 30 September.
In the middle of August, the shoulder season begins. The range of services is a bit more limited, but there are still shops and restaurants open. Public transport reduces its departures to Sudersand and has its final stop in Fårösund, on the other side of the ferry terminal. This is good to keep in mind when planning your stay on Fårö.
That said, we really recommend a visit to Fårö to enjoy what we call the shoulder season. The water is still warm in August, but there are fewer people on the island. Wintertime on Fårö is quieter and offers starry nights. A sense of calm settles in, and only the crackling of the wood-burning stove reminds you that time is quietly passing by.
From September, the reception will be staffed between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on weekdays and 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on weekends. However, on weekends we may close if there are few or no bookings, so please check our Facebook page for up-to-date information.
Fårö is a fantastic island all year round, so don’t hesitate to visit us and enjoy the tranquility of wintertime!
